Mark Scheifele shoots the lights out against the New Jersey Devils

Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports

So maybe we can all get used to the Mark Schefiele wheel snipe celly.

Proverbial whipping boy Mark Scheifele has been a hot button topic for the Winnipeg Jets since oh, forever.

Let's just say, his offence has been recently lacking. For Scheifele's last goal, you'd have to go all the way back to October 1, 2013 during Winnipeg's 5-4 victory over the Edmonton Oilers. It was also the season opener and happened twenty-four games ago. Or if you'd prefer fifty-six days ago. So yeah, I guess you could call that a drought.

Many fans and pundits have spent the past few weeks arguing Scheifele's role with the team and weighing the option of sending him to the AHL's St. John's IceCaps for further conditioning.

And then he did this.

Welp, the kid can shoot.
