Arctic Ice Hockeys 2012 Stanley Cup Conference Finals Preview

NEW YORK, NY - MAY 12: Goalie Henrik Lundqvist #30 and Marc Staal #18 of the New York Rangers celebrate after they won 2-1 against the Washington Capitals in Game Seven of the Eastern Conference Semifinals during the 2012 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at Madison Square Garden on May 12, 2012 in New York City. Hey all! The first two rounds are now in the books and we are into the Conference Finals! While we continue to lament the fact that the Winnipeg Jets will be using their summer to shake the rust off their golf swing, purchase new fishing tackle or spend cool summer nights boating the great lakes of Minnesota, four battle-tested teams will continue the fight for their chance to win this years Stanley Cup trophy. Will it be the Rangers, Devils, Coyotes or Kings that will be crowned league champions this June?

Stick around for the Conference Final picks of Trevor, Ben, Gabe, Ryan, Tim, Graham, Derek Daniel and a 25 cent Canadian quarter. Feel free to point out just how wrong we are and how awesome the quarter is.

After the Semifinals, here are our "expert" standings:

2011 25 cent Canadian quarter 8-4, Trevor 8-4, Gabe 7-5, Derek 6-6, Graham 6-6, Ryan 6-6, Ben 5-7, Tim 5-7, Daniel 0-0.

Enjoy!

Hey all! What a first round that was! While we collectively lament the fact that the Winnipeg Jets will be using their summer to shake the rust off their golf swing, purchase new fishing tackle or spend cool summer nights boating the great lakes of Minnesota, eight battle-tested teams will continue the fight for their chance to win this years Stanley Cup trophy. With the Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins both eliminated in the first round - along with a plethora of other "upsets" - we will not witness a renewal of last years rivalry. At this point, a birth in the Finals is up for the taking.

Stick around for the Semifinal round picks of Trevor, Ben, Gabe, Ryan, Tim, Graham, Derek and a 25 cent Canadian quarter. Feel free to point out just how wrong we are and how awesome the quarter is.

After the Quarterfinals, here are our "expert" standings:

Trevor 6-2, Ryan 5-3, 2011 25 cent Canadian quarter 5-3, Gabe 4-4, Derek 4-4, Graham 4-4, Ben 3-5, Tim 3-5.

Enjoy!

Arctic Ice Hockeys 2012 Stanley Cup Quarterfinals Preview

PHILADELPHIA - JUNE 09: Dustin Byfuglien #33 of the Chicago Blackhawks hoists the Stanley Cup after teammate Patrick Kane #88 scored the game-winning goal in overtime to defeat the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 and win the Stanley Cup in Game Six of the 2010 NHL Stanley Cup Final at the Wachovia Center on June 9, 2010 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Hey all! While we collectively lament the fact that the Winnipeg Jets will be using their summer to shake the rust off their golf swing, purchase new fishing tackle or spend cool summer nights boating the great lakes of Minnesota, sixteen fortunate teams will vie for their chance to win this years Stanley Cup trophy. The Western Conference features a cluster of teams that could potentially hoist this years Holy Grail, while in the Eastern Conference, things seem to be more pre-determined.

Stick around for the Quarterfinal round picks of Trevor, Ben, Gabe, Ryan, Tim, Graham, Derek and a 25 cent Canadian quarter. Feel free to point out just how wrong we are and how awesome the quarter is.

Enjoy!

NHL Skills Competition Predictions

Hey everyone it's that time of year, time for the All Star Break! Yes, the great weekend where defense disappears and all of the players set aside their differences to have fun for the fans (unless you're Alexander Ovechkin, whom I believe is skipping due to his opinion about the Shanahammer suspending him). Tonight is my favorite event, the skills competition, which I was just arguing to my roommate the point that the NHL skills competition is way better than its NBA counterpart. Ahead I will outline what's in store for tonight complete with my predictions for each event. The events tonight will go in this sequence: skating competition, breakaway challenge, accuracy shooting, skills challenge relay, hardest shot (my favorite), and elimination shootout. For more information on the competition and who's participating, check out Skills, Format, Scoring, and Rules.
