A six game homestand for the Winnipeg Jets got off on the wrong foot on Sunday night thanks to a 7-2 drubbing at the hands of the Pittsburgh Penguins. We’ll just chalk that up to too much turkey and move right along to tonight’s matchup against the Arizona Coyotes.
The Coyotes have played just four games so far this season, with three points to show for their efforts. The play of goaltender Darcy Kuemper has been lights out, as he posts a .957 save percentage and the Yotes as a squad have allowed just seven goals, aided by the 5th best power play in the league. However, things have not worked as well offensively, as they have only scored seven goals, with none on the power play in nine chances.
David Gustafsson will make his NHL debut tonight for the Jets, acting as the centre between Gabriel Bourque and Mason Appleton, with Mark Letestu dropping out of the lineup and is considered day-to-day.
The Jets have yet to lose on home ice to the Coyotes since relocating from Atlanta.
Darcy Kuemper and Connor Hellebuyck will start in net for the respective teams.
