Preview: Winnipeg Jets versus Los Angeles Kings

Time: 7:00 PM CST

Channel: TSN3

Radio: TSN1290

The Winnipeg Jets are playing the Los Angeles Kings tonight in a game that is a bit of a reversal of fortunes for the two teams over the past few seasons. The Kings are out of the playoffs and the Jets are comfortably in the playoff spot while showing few signs of slowing down.

The Kings have a slightly new look with the addition of Dion Phaneuf. This is not the Phaneuf of those early years with the Calgary Flames though; Phaneuf has struggled for a while now and even though he has scored a couple goals with the Kings, he is probably not going to become that player again.

As for the Jets, their 7-2 win against the Florida Panthers was topped only by the fact they finished quickly enough I could flip to the ice dance and know I was not going to miss Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir. They are awesome and hopefully that continues (the Jets, Virtue and Moir are going to retire).

Prediction:

Dion Phaneuf scores five goals and wins the Norris because of one game.
