Tyler Myers out for 6-8 weeks

The mystery surrounding Tyler Myers has been solved, sort of. The defenceman, who has not played since leaving the Winnipeg Jets November 11 game against the Colorado Avalanche with a lower-body injury, has undergone surgery that has a recovery time of 6-8 weeks. His earliest return date is March 21 and the latest day he could possibly return is April 8 in the Jets last game of the season.

This is an interesting update from the Jets as they have been mum over the health of Myers, but he had been skating and travelling with the team in January until a family emergency took him away from the team.

Myers has only played 11 games this season, his first season back from hip surgery that had him out for four to five months last year. There is no word if this current injury is tied to the hip surgery, but the possibility of having two seasons end in surgery is not that appealing when it comes to any player.

The Jets will probably continue thanking their lucky stars that Jacob Trouba signed with the team and plugging Mark Stuart and Ben Chiarot to fill the Myers-sized hole in the line-up.
