Patrik Laine is an All-Star

The Winnipeg Jets youngest player is the team’s lone all-star this season. Patrik Laine was named to the Central Division’s All-Star team roster for the three on three tournament that will take place in Los Angeles from January 27 to 29.

Laine makes perfect sense to be the lone Jet at the event. While players like Dustin Byfuglien and Mark Scheifele are all-star calibre players, Laine is a special brand of exciting for the NHL. For the moment, Laine’s health is a question mark. He has probably not started the return to play protocol that is required for him to return to games. It is quite possible that this does not happen before All-Star Weekend. If that is the case, there will need to be a replacement forward and Laine might still be required to go to Los Angeles to fulfill league duties. However, this may not be the case based on the nature of Laine’s injury.
