Winnipeg Jets Release Roster for Penticton Puck Play

The hockey season is darn near here! September is upon us and September means rookies! Rookie camp and the Winnipeg Jets participation in the annual Penticton Prospect Tournament start in just a week. From there, training camp and even the preseason will be right around the corner.

The Jets roster is highlighted by the likes of Nikolaj Ehlers and Connor Hellebuyck, as well as Josh Morrissey, Nic Petan and Eric Comrie, the latter three of whom have represented Canada on a national stage in the World Junior Hockey Championships. Other notables include Scott Kosmachuk, Andrew Copp and Brendan Lemieux, a trio of players who could be in the mix for 4th line ice to start the season. The tournament will also offer a first glimpse at 2015 picks Jansen Harkins, Michael Spacek and Matteo Gennaro.

This year’s Penticton tournament will be a little bit different than others for the Jets. Due to an abundance of prospects, the list of invitees is very minimal. Jiri Fronk, a former teammate of Winnipeg Jets’ 2015 third round pick Erik Foley, is the lone invite. Foley, along with the Jets’ other top college prospects Kyle Connor and Jack Roslovic, will not be participating due to NCAA restrictions.

Will any of these players stand out enough to elevate their stock as the Jets head into regular camp? What do you expect? Who do you expect to shine?
