Anaheim

The Ducks signed winger Patrick Maroon to a three-year extension worth $6M, effective in 2015/16. They signed their first round, 10th overall, selection, winger Nick Ritchie to an entry level contract.

Arizona

The Coyotes made no major moves this week.

Boston

The Bruins made no major moves this week.

Buffalo

The Sabres added Danny Flynn, Tom Coolen, and former NHL star Bryan Trottier as assistant coaches. Former NHL star goaltender Arturs Irbe has been added as goaltending coach.

Calgary

The Flames have announced a one-year affiliation with the ECHL’s Colorado Eagles.

Carolina

The Hurricanes have signed their first-round, seventh overall, selection, defenceman Haydn Fleury to an entry-level contract. Defenceman Joni Pitkanen who sat out last season with a nasty ankle injury sustained during the 2012/13 season, recently had an interview in Finland regarding his playing future. The 30-year old free agent, who last played for Carolina, still hasn’t resumed skating.

Chicago

The Blackhawks made no major moves this week.

Colorado

The Avalanche made no major moves this week.

Columbus

The Blue Jackets made no major moves this week.

Dallas

The Stars made no major moves this week.

Detroit

The Red Wings made no major moves this week.

Edmonton

The Oilers made no major moves this week.

Florida

The Panthers made no major moves this week. Defenceman Aaron Ekblad was sidelined with a concussion this week at World Junior training camp. The hope is for him to return by the time training camp starts, but you can never be sure.

Los Angeles

The Kings made no major moves this week. They were announced as the opponents for the 2015 NHL Stadium Series against San Jose.

Minnesota

The Wild made no major moves this week.

Montreal

The Canadiens made no major moves this week.

Nashville

The Predators made no major moves this week.

New Jersey

The Devils made no major moves this week.

NY Islanders

The Islanders made no major moves this week.

NY Rangers

The Rangers made no major moves this week.

Ottawa

The Senators made no major moves this week.

Philadelphia

The Flyers were quite busy this week. Defenceman Kimmo Timonen was diagnosed with blood clots in his leg and lungs. To cope with this nasty injury, the Flyers signed defenceman Michael Del Zotto to a one-year contract worth $1.3M. They also signed centre Ryan White to a one-year two-way contract. Forward Adam Hall, who spent last season with the Flyers, has signed in Switzerland with HC Ambri-Piotta.

Pittsburgh

The Penguins have signed centre Brandon Sutter to a two-year contract worth $6.6M.

San Jose

The Sharks have been announced as the hosts of the 2015 NHL Stadium Series. They will host division rival Los Angeles at the NFL’s San Fransisco 49ers’ new Levi’s Stadium on February 21.

St. Louis

The Blues made no major moves this week.

Tampa Bay

The Lightning signed goaltender Ben Bishop to a two-year extension worth $11.9M, effective in 2015/16. Forward Tom Pyatt, who last played in the NHL for the Lightning, signed in Switzerland with HC Geneve-Servette.

Toronto

The Maple Leafs made no major moves this week.

Vancouver

The Canucks made no major moves this week.

Washington

The Capitals made no major moves this week.

Winnipeg

The Jets made no major moves this week.
