Anaheim

The Ducks re-signed defenceman Sami Vatanen to a two-year contract worth $2,525,000.

Arizona

The Coyotes didn’t make any major moves this week.

Boston

The Bruins didn’t sign any major players, but hired Joe Sacco as assistant coach.

Buffalo

The Sabres didn’t make any major moves this week.

Calgary

The Flames signed three players. They signed forward Joe Colborne to a two-year contract worth $2.55M. They signed goaltender Joni Ortio to a two-year contract worth $1.2M, upgraded from a two-way deal, worth $115K in the minors, to a one-way deal in its second year. They signed 2014 first-round pick, centre Samuel Bennett to a three-year entry-level contract. Defenceman Anton Babchuk, who last played in the NHL for Calgary in 2012/13, signed in the KHL with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod.

Carolina

The Hurricanes re-signed defenceman Brett Bellemore to a one-year two-way contract worth $600K at the NHL level and $175K in the minors.

Chicago

The Blackhawks didn’t make any major moves this week.

Colorado

The Avalanche re-signed left wing Ryan O’Reilly to a two-year contract worth $12M.

Columbus

The Blue Jackets didn’t make any major moves this week.

Dallas

The Stars re-signed right winger Antoine Roussel to a four-year contract worth $8M.

Detroit

The Red Wings didn’t make any major moves this week.

Edmonton

The Oilers didn’t make any major moves this week.

Florida

Montreal

The Canadiens signed 2014 first-round pick, right winger Nikita Scherbak to a three-year entry-level contract. They also signed forward Lars Eller to a four-year contract worth $14M.

Nashville

The Predators didn’t make any major moves this week.

New Jersey

The Devils didn’t make any major moves this week.

NY Islanders

The Islanders re-signed goaltender Kevin Poulin to a one-year two-year contract worth $650K at the NHL level and $175K in the minors.

NY Rangers

The Rangers signed right winger Lee Stempniak to a one-year contract worth $900K. They also re-signed Chris Kreider to a two-year contract worth $4.95M, and re-signed Mats Zuccarello to a one-year contract worth $3.5M.

Ottawa

The Senators didn’t make any major moves this week.

Philadelphia

The Flyers didn’t make any major moves this week. In the wake of the KHL’s HC Donbass being forced by the region’s political unrest, as well as the sacking of their home arena, to cease operations, left winger Ruslan Fedotenko, who last played in the NHL with Philadelphia in 2012/13, has been talking with NHL teams about returning to the NHL, though not necessarily with the Flyers.

Pittsburgh

The Penguins didn’t make any major moves this week. Taylor Pyatt, who finished the 2013/14 season in Pittsburgh, has signed in the Swiss National League A with HC Geneve-Servette.

San Jose

The Sharks didn’t make any major moves this week.

St. Louis

The Blues were fairly busy this week. They went to salary arbitration with forward Vladimir Sobotka, who had signed in the KHL with Avangard Omsk. He was awarded a one-year contract worth $2.725M, which will come into effect when Sobotka returns to the NHL. The earliest he can return is one month after Omsk’s season ends. They signed defenceman Nate Prosser to a one-year contract worth $1.65M.

Tampa Bay

The Lightning didn’t make any major moves this week.

Toronto

The Maple Leafs re-signed defenceman Cody Franson to a one-year contract worth $3.3M, signed left winger David Booth to a one-year contract worth $1.1M, and re-signed goaltender James Reimer to a two-year contract worth $4.6M. They also made a fairly groundbreaking move, by the sounds of it, by signing 28-year-old former Soo Greyhounds GM Kyle Dubas, a proponent of advanced stat metrics, as an assistant GM.

Vancouver

The Canucks signed their 2014 6th-overall pick, Jake Virtanen, and 24th overall pick Jared McCann, to entry-level contracts.

Washington

The Capitals didn’t make any major moves this week.

Winnipeg

The Jets re-signed forwards Eric O’Dell and Patrice Cormier to one-year two-way contracts, O’Dell’s worth $650K in the NHL and $100K in the minors, and Cormier’s worth $625K in the NHL and $90K in the minors. They re-signed defenceman Keaton Ellerby to a one-year two-way contract worth $700K in the NHL.
