The Night That Was: PIT in the Pitts

Hannah Foslien

Pittsburgh and Minnesota are heading home after being eliminated last night.

Recap:

Pittsburgh Penguins 1 New York Rangers 2

King Henrik Lundqvist sat tall on his throne and the Rangers were able to squeak by the Pens in seven games. Pittsburgh did play well, but their crappy depth and inexplicable scratching of Beau Bennett for Tanner Glass set them up for a loss. Expect several small explosions to come from Pittsburgh soon.

Chicago Blackhawks 2 Minnesota Wild 1 (OT)

Home ice has been key in this series for both teams. The match ups that the Wild get at home allow them to dominate possession. That still happened tonight, but Corey Crawford played lights out and Patrick Kane did Patrick Kane things and won the game before it entered pizza crust time.
