Winnipeg Jets announce 2013 Development Camp details

The Winnipeg Jets finally announced their Development Camp details today, and it is much sooner than you might think.

In just 11 days, from July 15th to 19th, 43 young men will take to the ice at the MTS Iceplex to try and impress the Jets brass, as well as the hundreds of fans that will likely attend. Included in this list of 43 are Mark Scheifele, Jacob Trouba and Joshua Morrissey, who if you have been living under a rock are the past three 1st-Round selections of the local ice hockey team.

Here is the "roster" of attendees, broken down by position:

Goaltenders:

Eric Comrie, Connor Hellebuyck, Jason Kasdorf, Charlie Lindgren, Jamie Phillips, Juho Olkinuora

Defensemen:

Ben Chiarot, Kevin Czuczman, Luke Eibler, Marcus Karlstrom, Brenden Kichton, Jan Kostalek, Zach Loesch, Julian Melchiori, Josh Morrissey, Tucker Poolman, Brennan Serville, Cody Sol, Peter Stoykewych, Jacob Trouba, Michael Young

Forwards:

Matt Bailey, Austen Brassard, Mark Cooper, Andrew Copp, Austin Czarnik, David Johnstone, Ronalds Kenins, Scott Kosmachuk, Tanner Lane, J.C. Lipon, Jimmy Lodge, Adam Lowry, Dylan Margonari, Ryan Olsen, Nic Petan, Josh Pitt, Mark Scheifele, Tyler Sikura, Lukas Sutter, Ivan Telegin, Matt White, Michael Zalewski

I'm not going to lie, this list is full of very exciting names. It is easily apparent that the shelves are much deeper in the Jets pipeline than they have ever been since their return to Winnipeg, as there are a number of prospects coming that could very well crack an NHL lineup. I'll be most interested to see how close the 2011 draft picks (Scheifele, Lowry, Brassard, Serville and Kasdorf) are to producing at the pro level, and to also see how much the crop from the 2012 draft have grown as well.

If you don't recognize a few names, it's because the Jets often invite unsigned prospects to get a look at them. I'll reserve judgement on them until I see them, but the following tweets are interesting:

I plan on attending as many sessions as I can during that week, so if you want me to keep an eye on anyone or anything in particular, let me know in the comments below!
