anybody have any good April Fools day stories related to hockey?
a few years ago I was driving to work and as usual, sports radio was on to mute the pain of sitting in gridlock here in rainy VanHoover (like the vacuum cleaner, it sucks.)
The interviewers had Pavel Bure on the phone. He was talking about staying in shape, skating three times a week and talking with the GM about making a come back with the Canucks in time for a playoff run. The way the hosts had set it up, the Canucks had somehow put Bure on their negotiation list after he'd retired. And Bure was free and clear to join the team if an agreement was in place. And it was the real Bure on the radio, talking about how excited he was to lace em up and contributing on the powerplay. A surprising number of people fell for it.
The real joke was that Mat Sundin had earlier come out of "retirement" and was on the Canucks roster that season.
anything else come to mind?
