Paul Postma will start on the third defensive pairing on Saturday afternoon - Marianne Helm
The Winnipeg Jets trimmed their roster by 3 this afternoon, in compliance with the NHL's deadline to cut active rosters down to 23 men. Going back to St. John's are Spencer Machacek, Maxime Macenauer and Derek Meech.
The phone call you never want to get came for 3 Winnipeg Jets players this afternoon, as Maxime Macenauer, Spencer Machacek and Derek Meech all learned they are being sent down to the St. John's IceCaps to give the Jets their required 23 man roster.
It's unfortunate for the M&M&M trio, as they were unable to get a chance to prove themselves in a preseason game. Instead it's back to the farm and the Jets deal with what they have. And what is that exactly?

Healthy Scratches: #?? James Wright, #14 Anthony Peluso
Injured Reserve: #20 Antti Miettinen

As you can see, Mark Scheifele starts the year with the big club again, while Paul Postma and Zach Redmond add new blood to the blueline. Of course, we can expect further changes when Bogo and Mittens return to the lineup, but until that time this is the group you can expect to see taking the ice in warmups on Saturday afternoon.
