The first pre-season practice is in the books and it was a well attended event, to say the least.

Thousands of fans packed the MTS Centre today at noon to watch their hometown hockey idols take to the ice for the first time since the 2011-12 season concluded back in April 2012.

So to celebrate the return of relevant NHL commentary, we would like to provide you the best of today's skate in picture form.

The Jets will hit the ice again tomorrow in a practice that is closed to the public. If you weren't able to make it down to the rink today, the team will host one more practice open to the public on Wednesday, January 16 at 10:30AM at the MTS IcePlex.
