Wednesday Morning Altitude Check: Blake Wheeler Believes He Can Score 30

Hey all! Here is our feature running Monday through Friday that will bring you up to date on what’s going on in the media pertaining to the Winnipeg Jets and elsewhere in the NHL.

Here is what's in the news for Wednesday, September 26, 2012:

Blake Wheeler believes he can become a 30 goal scorer at the NHL level: “I think I can score 30 goals, that’s a good goal for me. But you have to get 20 before you get 30. It’s the start of something really good. I feel the sky is the limit for me in Winnipeg. It’s just a really good fit for me. That’s why I’m really excited to get back at it, as soon as possible.” Hey, there’s only so many 31.5MM contracts to go around, guys! [Winnipeg Sun]

Jim Slater has more good things to say about the city of Winnipeg: “Right now I’m just getting re-acclimated to the city… grocery shopping and getting stuff for the condo. We’re still humans and like to do human things. This city has what you need to have fun and there’s times you can get out of the city and go fishing. I’ve got no problem being here and finding things to do.” [WFP]
