Jets Sign Olli Jokinen to Two Year Deal!

Olli Jokinen has signed a two year contract with the Winnipeg Jets that will pay him $9 million. For more details, click the link in the title. Opinions are welcome (as always) in the comments. Personally, I like this deal a lot. The price tag could end up being a tad steep if Jokinen slides back to being a 50 point player but even then won't be too bad. Jokinen's not the greatest player in the world but he was the best UFA center available. The Jets desperately needed a top 2 center and staying short-term limits the risk. Derek Roy would have been nice, but I approve nonetheless. The Jets' roster now stands at 10F, 6D and 1G, not including two-way deals or RFAs yet to re-sign. The forwards will likely be rounded out internally but as the team has just $48.6 million in salary committed to next season, I'm hopeful there will be one more big move coming.
