This weekend could be nuts! Free agency is almost here and the Jets have money to spend! [Winnipeg Free Press]

MC Hockey lists 18 defenders that would makes sense for the Jets based on all sort of nerd numbers. Jason Garrison or Matt Carle would be amazing and surprisingly end up ranked ahead of Ryan Suter (9th out of 18). [Jets Nation]

Olli Jokinen will also test free agency. If the Jets could nab him for a year or two, he might not be a terrible fit. [Winnipeg Sun]

Hockey's Future reviewed the Jets draft. It sounds pretty favorable. I am curious to see how they grade the players though. [Hockey's Future]

Here is an ISS / Best picks by round breakdown. Jets got an honorable mention for best pick in the 3rd [Yahoo / the Hockey News]

Corey Pronman gives his analysis on the Jets 2012 NHL draft: "The Jets had few picks, and generally took little risk with their selections. Trouba is a very good prospect, but in terms of value, he's likely the only real take from this draft class." [Hockey Prospectus]

In a pre-free agency frenzy, lots of players were resigned yesterday. This one went a little under the radar, but may have been the best signing of the day. The Columbus Blue Jackets locked up Nikita Nikitin for two years at a total of $4.3 million. I know I would rather have him than Dennis Wideman. [The Cannon]

Then there is the big one… Sidney Crosby signed for big money and big term. Here are some fun facts. [PensBurg]

Another big deal went to the big deal that is known as Jonathan Quick. [Jewels From The Crown]

Cory Schneider also got some money. He signed a 3 year $12 Million Dollar deal. [Nucks Misconduct]

Sticking with goalies. Tuukka Rask signed a one year deal. He has one year to solidify himself as the net boss in Boston. Of course they couldn’t help but point out that their GM got a better deal on a similar goaltender. “Et Tu, Cheveldayoff?” [Stanley Cup of Chowder]

Cam Charron decided to stick it to Chevy as well. He recapped the recent signings and compared Rask, Schnieder and Quick to Ondrej Pavelec. [The Score]
