Hawks sign Oduya, Mayers to extensions

Former Winnipeg Jets defenseman Johnny Oduya has re-signed a three-year deal with the Chicago Blackhawks, according to the Chicago Tribune: "Defensman Johnny Oduya has agreed to a three-year contract extension and forward Jamal Mayers signed a one-year deal, the team announced Tuesday. Oduya, 30, led Hawks defensemen with three assists in six games during the first-round playoff loss to the Coyotes. He had five points and a plus-3 rating in 18 regular-season games after being acquired at the trade deadline on Feb. 27 from the Jets." Ed. Note: Darren Dreger is reporting that Oduya is set to make 3.375MM in annual salary, down from his last contract which paid him 3.5MM per season.
