People who don't have any history or experience with relocated teams don't get it, so I see why you're perplexed.
Winnipeg has two histories: The first Jets, and the new second Jets, with its history starting in 2011. You can choose to connect the two or not, but Ilya Kovalchuk is not part of either. When the Browns were awarded as an expansion team to Cleveland, the NFL transferred the original team’s history back to Cleveland. Only in Gary Bettman’s world does Kovalchuk hold the scoring record for the Jets.

Yes. ‘05 was the lockout, and ’06-’09 were play-off less.
So that means five years of playoffs, four years without, and one year of no hockey at all.
50% playoffs != not participating.

Like every fan base, there are loud, obnoxious and unintelligent fans, usually comprising the majority of the fanbase. Or rather, it may seem that they are in the majority because they are loud and usually have the most time on their hands (normal people don’t have 8 hours a day to argue on WFP boards). This isn’t an exclusive thing to Winnipeg. If you go to the Tennessean boards, you will find another vocal majority of “Titans fans” but the discussion on MCM serves to illustrate that there is more to the fanbase than what is seen there.

This was discussed in one of my first year stats courses.
Consider the sample. People who call in have (a) lots of free time, (b) oversimplistic visions because “they are smarter than everyone else, including the coach!” and © care SO much about their opinions and voice to spend eternity on the lines. I do not listen to call in shows for those reasons. Bombers, Jets, Titans, any sports team, the call in shows feature the idiots. The intelligent people are busy doing something more important than holding onto a phone because “Player X hasn’t scored in three games and they should deal him right now for 10 first round picks!”

Most teams do this after a loss. Especially to other Canadian teams.
Easy to pass off blame to the other team even though a vast majority of the commenters understand that the Leafs played a frustrating, tired game.
Being a Leafs fan makes me bipolar.
Meh, to each his own I guess. Just think its a weird way of dealing with losses.
Both here and at MCM we usually just deal with our anger by discussing turning points, plays and the eternal evaluation of the roster.

I have to admit I didn’t see it coming. Apparently I’ve overestimated the Leafs. And before anyone says that the Jets suck, I have to point out that I agree with you. But I also have to point out that we still beat you tonight and won the season series.
