Another game, another shutout loss for the St. John's IceCaps, who last night fell to the Portland Pirates by a final score of 2-0. Despite outshooting the Pirates, the 'Caps were unable to penetrate the stellar goaltending of Chris Johnson who made 31 saves in the win.
The Sharks, for their part, were able to eek out a 3-2 victory against the Providence Brunis last night. Bracken Kearns scored two goals, including the game winner for the Sharks who then made the short trip back from Providence to host St. John's today.
