Join us for the first of two GameDay Threads, covering a mid-week series between the St. John's IceCaps and the Portland Pirates. We promise that it will be filled with sarcasm and dry wit.

ST. JOHN'S ICECAPS (2-2-0-0) vs. PORTLAND PIRATES (1-2-0-0)
Oct. 20, 2012 at Mile One Centre
Start: 6:00 PM EST

The St. John's IceCaps will look to string together their first back-to-back wins of this early 2012-13 campaign as they host the Portland Pirates in their second set of three straight series at home.

The IceCaps will be without ther services of MVP defenseman Paul Postma as he continues to nurse an injury suffered during the pre-season. Also expected to be held out of St. John's line-up are Raymond Sawada, Carl Klingberg and Patrice Cormier. The good news is that team captain Jason Jaffray is expected to make his return, adding a scoring threat to the teams' top-six forwards. As detailed in our game preview, Mark Dekanich will get the start in net.

Game time goes at 5:00PM CST and we'd love for all of our closest friends to join us and talk some hockey.
