Game Preview: Jets Look To Make Hell Freeze Over Against The Devils

I really hope I wake up in time for this one, as it's an afternoon game at the MTS Centre. I'm writing this at 4 in the morning so we'll see.

After a month of December that saw domination at home, the Jets played a snoozer of a game Thursday against the Sharks in a (lack of) effort that saw them fall 2-0 to San Jose. the fans were kept quiet with little to nothing to cheer for as the Jets just didn’t threaten at all.

New Jersey last played on Wednesday in Edmonton in a 2-1 win, so while they have been travelling they should still be rested. Hopefully they've been here a few days and are enjoying the lovely January weather.

The Jets need to play a bit more inspired hokcey this time around if they want to succeed. All these games against Eastern Conference opponents are going to be crucial towards making a playoff push.

Keys to the Game, Lineups and Player Numbers coming at you after THE JUMP

Keys to the Game:

  • Once again Pavelec was huge for Winnipeg, keeping them in it until the death.
  • The scoring lines didn’t look dangerous at any point. It’s no wonder they didn’t score.
  • TThe defensive core failed to step it up last game, with Toby Enstrom playing uncharacteristically poorly and Randy Jones playing characteristically poorly.
  • The 4th line of Wellwood, Mittens and Fehr looked like the only players who wanted to play on Thursday…on either team
