LOS ANGELES, CA - APRIL 21: Antti Niemi #31 of the San Jose Sharks lays on the ice after allowing a goal by the Los Angeles Kings in the second period of game four of the Western Conference Quarterfinals during the 2011 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at Staples Center on April 21, 2011 in Los Angeles, California. Nothing but a data dump today:

Team Fen% SF SA GF GA
pit     61.5 75 47 4 1
van     58.2 39 28 4 2
mon     57.8 26 19 4 2
nsh     56.5 26 20 2 0
was     54.8 108 89 3 4
det     51.9 40 37 4 2
la       51.9 67 62 1 5
buf     50.0 48 48 3 3
phi     50.0 48 48 3 3
sj       48.1 62 67 5 1
pho     48.1 37 40 2 4
nyr     45.2 89 108 4 3
ana     43.5 20 26 0 2
bos     42.2 19 26 2 4
chi     41.8 28 39 2 4
tb       38.5 47 75 1 4

The main thing that's out-of-whack here?  San Jose taking the lead five times to LA's once despite the two teams being even on shots.  Play that series a million times and you'll rarely see that happen again.

I wonder how much ground the Hawks made up in the last two games…

Does he call it Luongo underwear?

I still can’t believe the Sabres and Flyers are even with the score tied.

Though i suppose because other than game 1 the score hasn’t been tied that much.

On the Mike Weber bandwagon!
Sabres took the scenic route, but they still MADE IT TO THE PLAYOFFS!!!1

So, the Bruins are the new habs?

The Habs lived by the sword last season, and it looks like they might just die by the sword this year.

I’m going to tune into Buffalo-Philly more often for sure now.

Per SJ/LAK

If you look at the TOI at EV in that series it would explain the bizarre results.

A clarification

I’m still new to the stuff, so I wanted to clarify something before I go sharing it…

This is telling me that BUF and PHI have the same number of shots on goal (and not shots taken) in the series when the score is tied, correct?

Fenwick includes missed shots too.

So: at even strength, when the score was tied, both teams got the same number of shots off (unblocked).

Might be a noob question but where can I get Fenwick data?

For a while there, I didn’t think we’d have enough EV score-tied data from MTL-BOS to actually have good data.

(I think there was less than five minutes through the first three games.)
