WINNIPEG, CANADA - OCTOBER 9: Bryan Little #18 of the Winnipeg Jets gets held up by Carey Price #31 of the Montreal Canadiens in NHL action at the MTS Centre on October 9, 2011 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Let's look at the specifics:
Winnipeg outchanced Montreal 18-16, which is what we'd expect from a game so lopsided that Winnipeg had nothing to lose by going for the net. Normally we'd look at what happened when the game was tied, but the Habs scored on their first scoring chance. So we got nothing.
Here are the chance totals at even-strength by Jet:
|16||L||ANDREW LADD (C)||1||5|
|33||D||DUSTIN BYFUGLIEN (A)||6||7|
|39||D||TOBIAS ENSTROM (A)||5||2|
Sorry for having the whole thing backwards initially. Ladd-Little-Wheeler were awful even though they didn't 100% match up against Montreal's first line. I have a feeling we're going to see a lot of games like this this season...Those games against Florida and Ottawa can't come too quickly...
