Say what you want about Canada's inability to score yesterday - they certainly got a lot of good scoring chances. Canada took 61 shots in total, including 30 shots inside the most dangerous zone on the ice, between the dots and below the top of the faceoff circle:
Against an average NHL goaltender and an average NHL defense, they'd have expected 5 or 6 goals. Against Jonas Hiller and the porous Swiss defense, perhaps 6 or 7. Getting only two goals was just bad luck.
PS - I have the right and left wings swapped. I'm just too lazy to re-do the diagram.
