A Functional Post -- And a Call for The Best Articles of 2010

Just wanted to catch the weekly readership with a number of things concerning the blog, as well as a call for some input...

  • Good friend of BTN Rob Vollman is looking to compile some of the best stats analysis articles of 2010.  Please give us your suggestions in the comments section below.  Self-promotion will draw the evil-eye.
  • We can't stress enough that you check out the new behindthenet.ca, fiddle around with it, and give suggestions and critiques.
  • BTN is on Facebook now, so if you have a Facebook account you should go ahead and like us.  If it's actually a matter of fact that you don't like us...well...I don't really know what to say.
  • Gabe (@behindthenet) and I (@BenjaminWendorf) both have Twitter accounts as well, where I am more crass and less weepy about under-appreciated players and Gabe is...still Gabe, but even more animated.  Had you been following, you would have been one of the first to see this.  So just think about where you'd be without that.
  • If you have any suggestions for topics or research requests, feel free to send them our way: info@behindthenet.ca and/or bwendorf84@gmail.com.

Always fantastic stuff to read here

Learn more and more everytime I read an article on here.

Great picture by the way. Dallas ice girls, gotta love ’em.

The new site

First off, it’s a great improvement – much ore user friendly. My main suggestion would be to also include counting stats, so issues of sample can be determined by the user. For example, we have many “/60” stats out there, but no way of knowing how much ice time was actually accrued. Knowing the rate helps greatly in predicting what will happen going forward, but not as much in determining what has already occurred.
Keep up the greatness.

Clarify

I should clarify. After reading the above article I signed him in my dynasty fantasy league and got him on the cheap. Should absolutely be mentioned for article of the year.

I appreciate both suggestions so far. They’re exactly the type of articles I’m looking for, thanks.
